On my recent trip to LA, I attended the IMATS. The exact location was actually in Pasadena, about 20 minutes from LA. When I first arrived, I actually ran into Youtube allstar Kandee Johnson. She was super nice and bubbly, as usual! The convention center was packed with girls, (I saw a couple other youtube girls running around…) and some hard core shoppers. I bought myself a Temtu Airbrush kit, cheap eyelashes and some Beauty Blenders…
I showed up late to the event, so I couldn’t get anything from Makeup Forever unfortunately… which was a  major let down!!!
Compared to the IMATS in Vancouver, the LA show was much busier with people, shoppers and makeup stalls. I really enjoyed myself with all the excitement all around me, but since it was so busy I couldn’t get most of the stuff I was looking for. I only bought tickets to one day because I was obviously visiting from Vancouver and didn’t want to spend both days cooped up in the convention centre while I was in California!
I will definitely go back next year though! California is one of my faves!

Using all MAC makeup products, I created this light and fun look. SPF 20 gradual tan for medium to dark skintones from Jergens, then SPF tinted moisturizer in beige to prep my skin. Then I concealed my redness and dark circles before powdering under my eyes and on my T-zone… just in case it gets super hot out there! You don’t want to sweat off your makeup or get oily! Then a dark mineral powder all over with a fat fluffy brush for a bronzed look and a shimmer highlight lustre drops… and a highlighting powder on top of the drops to set everything. I used a light green shade stick (limited from MAC) and applied it to my shadow crease, then blended it in and then added a light green eyeshadow on top of the shade stick so the shadow wouldn’t move even in the most sweltering heat. I applied an orange eyeshadow on my outer lower lashline and a light blue liner over that.
I added a pink blush… Curled my lashes, added WATERPROOF MASCARA… put on a pink lipstick, then dabbed most of it off and applied a light SPF 12 lipgloss on top.

MAC “To The Beach” collection for summer 2010

MAC cosmetics is fantastic at constantly keeping their makeup up to date with fun new shades, colors, products, sets and collections. I am a loyal fan of MAC cosmetics and am a trusted customer. I stand by most of their products and love the way they market their merchandise.

For this summer 2010 season, MAC has created the golden “to the beach” collection with cute bright colored packaging. I bought 3 products from this line: a lipliner in Life’s a Breeze, a lipglass called Easy Lounger and a Lustre Drops shimmering Highlighter in a liquid form called Pink Rebel. I saw the new lustre drops being demonstrated on Breakfast Television the other day and it made me want to try it out. Well I’ve tried it and it’s a great product and is perfect for highlighting the brow bone, cheekbones and nose… It’s luminous glow gives your skin a flawless sun-kissed finish!

Overall, the To The Beach collection from MAC is fabulous for summer… cute light shades and bronze powders. A big thumbs up!

Vegas does not recycle

My boyfriend and I recently went on a weekend trip to Las Vegas with 20 of our friends. We stayed at Planet Hollywood in the center of the strip for a pretty good deal. We had too much fun and everybody went home happy and tired out.

One thing that really bothered me about Vegas was the fact that they do NOT recycle! It disgusted me. They can easily get tourists drunk off their ridiculously massive plastic drink cups but can’t recycle them for some reason… they eat so much fast food in plastic and styrofoam containers that are just thrown out in the garbage. They don’t even recycle the pop cans or beer cans. Seriously? This is stupid and needs to change. This is 2010, we should ALL know better. Some of the states in the U.S. should be more educated about this topic and it should definitely be mandatory to recycle and reduce unnecessary waste. Just come to Vancouver and you will see the variety of choices you have when you are about to throw something out. You can recycle tins, plastics, bottles, glass, or compost. We set a great example in Vancouver and I’m glad to be living in a city that is so in touch with having a healthy future for our environment.

I looked up online and this is the only place to recycle really if you live in Vegas… The Recycling Center is located at 333 W Gowan Rd in North Las Vegas… so you have to go out of your way…
