When my stunning client walked in for the first time to The Studio by MikaDoesMakeup, I thought she must already be wearing makeup because she was so beautiful! As it turned out, Bea did not have any makeup on and in fact, wanted her makeup done… by ME! I was obviously happy to take on this easy task, but loved every minute of it even more because she was such a sweetheart and so easy to talk to. I love clients like this!
This is a short video on how to apply an everyday fast and easy “Natural MAC Makeup Look”…
First I’d like to apologize for my monotone and raspy voice… I was feeling a little under the weather… So excuse me…
I started my easy natural makeup look with some MAC select cover up (tube) in NW 25 to my dark circles around my eyes, but sticking closer to the inner corners. (If I applied the concealer all the way under my entire eye, the makeup tends to emphasize my wrinkles!)
Then I apply a Dark Mineralize Skinfinish Powder as a bronzer to my cheeks, temples, forehead, nose and neck… Pretty much wherever you want a slight glow…
Then I go over my cheek bones and nose with a Refined Mineralize Skinfinish for nice subtle highlighting.
Now apply Rubenesque Cream Paint Pot eyeshadow to eyelids with clean fingertips.
Apply Phloof eyeshadow with an eyeshadow brush or crease brush to eyelid (closer to the lashline). Don’t go too high up on eyelids.
Now apply Underage Lip Glass to lips with the wand and do the “finger test”. (that means stick your index finger in your mouth to clean the stickiness off to keep from getting on your teeth!)
For eyebrows, I used Espresso eyeshadow with a flat angle brush to create a more defined arch.
For eyeliner on the bottom lashline, I used the same Espresso eyeshadow on the same flat angle brush to create a soft line.
Then I curled my eyelashes 2 times with my metal eyelash curler. (from MAC of course…)
Then I applied my Voluminous Mascara from Loreal, to both top and bottom eyelashes. I also re-curled and re-applied another coat of mascara.
This is me in Fiji, relaxing and taking in the moment. I layed on that hammock and stared at the beach and the rolling waves while playing my sudoku. I will never forget that day.
What are the Procedures and Benefits to Eyelash and Eyebrow Tinting? Is it Safe?
The process to Tinting your Eyelashes and/or Eyebrows is safe, inexpensive, painless and easy. The product I use is a specially made vegetable dye to tint your lashes which means it is definately safe around your eyes. There are a range of colors to choose from to enhance your Eyelashes and I will let you know what the best result will be for you. If you want dark sexy Eyelashes I usually go for the Black, or the Blue-Black for extra noticable Eyelashes. If you are really fair, I will use a dark brown or a brown for you Eyelashes. Eyebrows tend to usually look better the same colour as your hair.
The main benefits to tinting your Eyelashes:
it enhances the general appearance of your eyes
good for those of you who have sensitivity to makeup
great for people who are into sports, especially water sports
perfect for busy people who don’t have time to apply makeup every day
good for contact lens users
The main benefits to tinting your Eyebrows:
good for people with thinning eyebrows
it darkens your eyebrows so you can actually see them (if they are light or sparse)
it completes your overall look when you have nicely shaded in eyebrows
(Unfortunately there is no way to lighten your Eyelashes/Eyebrows.)
$15 Eyelash Tinting
$10 Eyebrow Tinting

The main purpose of a relaxation massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood & release toxins from the muscles. This in turn stimulates the skin and nervous system while soothing the nerves. It also reduces emotional and physical stress and is suggested regularly for managing stress. Massage is beneficial to soothing your aches and pains in your back, neck, shoulders, calves, glutes, arms and hands and will leave you feel invigorated!
I use various scented and non-scented oils and/or creams that suit your specific needs for an all over relaxing experience to leave your mind at ease and improve your well being. Scented candles or incense can be lit for added comfort for those hectic days.

The setting was a busy West End sidewalk on a sunny summer day in Vancouver…. The stunning model was Kortney Krystik… The photographer, talented David Dolsen… Who else?
This was a whole day of makeup, modelling and shooting… With 3 different looks.
The first makeup look that I applied on Kortney started off light and natural, with a focus on her beautiful brown eyes. I applied long cluster false eyelashes on top of her natural lashes, and topped it off with a couple coats of Benefit’s BADGal Lash mascara to help blend them in. This created the “Girl the Next Door” look and was shot by David at a well know art piece at English Bay…
The second makeup look that I applied was a very dark smoky eye; the crease consisting mainly of MAC’s Print eyeshadow, then MAC’s Goldmine eyeshadow on the inner corners and brow bone. This created the “Mysterious Beauty” look and was shot by David in a West End apartment…
And finally the last makeup look consisted of MAC’s Ruby Woo Lipstick to add some fiery red hot lips to create Kortney’s “Bad Girl” feel. This look was shot by David on the busy sidewalks of Denman Street in Vancouver’s West End.
It was a long and fantastic day. Thanks to Kortney and David!
