If you’re always on the look out for great makeup brushes that actually work fabulously and are priced right, then I have just the brush for you! I’m a local Vancouver makeup artist that goes through makeup brushes like socks, and I know exactly what is good, what is bad and what is totally overpriced. My carefully picked makeup brushes are so good, I even use them to apply my own makeup daily, along with all of my clients and friends. I swear by the original dual-ended shadow/liner brush and the lip brush that doubles as a small concealer brush… the blush brush is amazing to accentuate the cheekbones as well as perfect for applying loose and pressed powder. I especially love the angled eyeshadow brush when applying my smokey eye makeup… There are more makeup brushes to come!

These brushes are comparable to MAC and other popular makeup brushes but are priced less from $8 – $20 (All Natural hair bristles!)

Makeup for couples photoshoot – Nira Arora and Garry Gill with photographer Dawn Stenzel

Nira Arora just had her 7 year anniversary with her hubby, Garry Gill and they decided to get some professional pictures done. They contacted photographer Dawn Stenzel and then I was contacted to do the makeup for the love photoshoot. Nira and Garry both came to my downtown Vancouver location to get prepped first… then they met up with Dawn to finally get their pictures done.

Perfume Collection – The Favourites

I love collecting perfumes but recently I realized that it is totally unnecessary to have a bunch of different kinds since you tend to favour one or two. I am favouring Love by Harajuku Lovers right now because it is so nice and light and perfect for summer. I also love Gucci II since it is also really subtle and great for spring and summer. (I wear them all year round though!)

Makeup for Bachelorette parties in Vancouver

For Danica’s recent bachelorette party, she came to me to do her makeup. I went to her place to set up and I was surrounded by girls, food and wine… I started off by prepping her face with primer and then applied her foundation shade with a concealer for any blemishes or redness. I made sure to powder generously so her makeup won’t slide off later when she is dancing up a storm. Then I applied sexy smokey eye makeup on her to go with her sexy hair, dress and shoes, and a light nude shiny lipstick and lipgloss to finish off her bachelorette look!

Makeup for Nira Arora – headshots with photographer Dawn Stenzel

Local Vancouver Photographer Dawn Stenzel introduced me to Nira Arora from the radio station The Beat 94.5 FM so I can do her makeup for her new headshots. Nira was so sweet and funny, just an absolute delight to work on. I used a primer, foundation, concealer and powder on her face then used darker shades of black and brown for a smokey eye, rosey blush and a nude glossy lip. I smoothed out a few pieces of her hair with my hair straightener and she was ready for her shoot!

I recently did Nira Arora’s makeup for her own upcoming website (and her couple’s photoshoot) with photographer Dawn Stenzel. Nira is so sweet and has the most amazing eyes. I also did some “man makeup” on her hubby Garry which was super fast but super fun since he is so hilarious!
