Love-Photography shoots a session at The Studio by MikaDoesMakeup

I got together with Tina from Love-Photography to shoot Jamaican model Olivia at The Studio by MikaDoesMakeup in downtown, Vancouver. We wanted to do a more creative makeup look on Olivia and focus on her full lips, so I started out with a funky blue lip liner on top of nude lips. On the second look I aimed to focus on her gorgeous eyes with a bright colour, so I chose yellow and gave her a winged liner with blue instead of the usual black. I applied full false strip eyelashes and a full coverage foundation to finish off Olivia’s creative makeup look.

Makeup for couples photoshoot – Nira Arora and Garry Gill with photographer Dawn Stenzel

Nira Arora just had her 7 year anniversary with her hubby, Garry Gill and they decided to get some professional pictures done. They contacted photographer Dawn Stenzel and then I was contacted to do the makeup for the love photoshoot. Nira and Garry both came to my downtown Vancouver location to get prepped first… then they met up with Dawn to finally get their pictures done.

Bridal Makeup Trial on Courtney

Courtney is getting married on September 3rd this year and just got her bridal makeup trial done with me. She told me she likes smokey eyes, false lashes, bronzed skin, & light lips. I focused on her eyes because she wanted her eyes to stand out the most, so I made sure to highlight her browbone, then darken and define her brows.  I applied the usual (primer and moisturizer, concealer, foundation) and added a light pink lipstick.

Perfume Collection – The Favourites

I love collecting perfumes but recently I realized that it is totally unnecessary to have a bunch of different kinds since you tend to favour one or two. I am favouring Love by Harajuku Lovers right now because it is so nice and light and perfect for summer. I also love Gucci II since it is also really subtle and great for spring and summer. (I wear them all year round though!)

Wedding Makeup Trial on Maja

Maja is getting married on August 21st this year so she came to me for her trial makeup run to go over the possible looks for her actual wedding day.  She told me she likes black eye makeup and light lips… so this is the makeup look we went for.

It is always good to book your bridal trial makeup run at least 3 weeks prior to your wedding day so you can try out different looks that will suit you best. I always get my clients to book their trial makeup session earlier on in the morning on a day where you have something special planned. Even if you don’t have anything special planned, you should look in every mirror or take personal pictures of yourself and really see if you like the makeup since this is what you may look like on your wedding day.

Men’s Makeup for Garry Gill – Couple’s Photoshoot

Men don’t usually wear makeup… Unless they are behind the camera.

In this case, I applied a bit of concealer and powder to physician, funny guy – and Nira Arora’s hubby, Garry Gill for their 7 year anniversary Love Photoshoot. I got Dawn Stenzel the photographer to take a few photos of Garry by himself for my portfolio. Here they are! He is a natural model!
