Once you are ready to plan your big day, you should start by interviewing (or “trying out”) different makeup artists. First ask around and see if any of your friends may know a good makeup artist, or google one with a legit website that is up to date. You want to find someone who has updated pictures, blog posts, recent activity… It’s also good to look at the testimonials, experience, education and past work. Then you can start interviewing…
When you meet your makeup artist, they will decide what will look best on you by examining your overall appearance, skin type & colouring. They should talk to you about everything from location, skin care (especially for the week prior to your wedding), to pricing and any hidden costs (travel fees, eyelashes, etc).When finished with your bridal trial you should leave feeling gorgeous and comfortable with your entire look. Remember, this is what you will look like on your big wedding day. If there is something you do not like that your makeup artist did on you then this is your chance to let them know so they can note it for your wedding day. The bridal trial will cost anywhere from $40 – $75, or some include it in the bridal makeup total.
You should be able to get along with your makeup artist and be on the same level as them. They will play a big part in your entire look on your wedding day, so make sure they are the right pick! Also, be sure they are reliable! There is nothing worse then someone who doesn’t show up to a job.
