I just got back from Mexico, where the sun is strong and harsh! I got a good tan although I DID use an SPF of at least 30 at all times. You have to ALWAYS wear sunscreen or block on your face, (or wear a wide brimmed hat), and sunscreen all over your body if you are going to be in the sun. Even if it’s cloudy, put on the spf!!!! You should also wear some sunglasses to shield your eyes and if possible, a leave in conditioner for your hair!

I always put an SPF on all my brides before I do their summer wedding day makeup!

Men’s chest wax – minimal hair

Music by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillait / Song name “Lucky”

To perform a men’s chest wax, you will need the following:

warm wax (professional brand), wax pot warmer, tongue depressor sticks, wax strips, baby powder (or corn starch), grapeseed oil (or any body oil), after wax lotion and an aloe vera gel.

Start by getting your client to lay down on a massage bed covered in a sheet to protect it from any wax that may fall on it. Then make sure your wax is at a warm temperature so that it can glide easily over your client’s skin. Apply a baby powder (corn starch works too) to the hair as this will help adhere the wax to the hair and not the skin.

Grab your tongue depressor stick and dip it in the wax and apply it directly over the hair going in the direction with the hair growth. With your wax strip, apply it over the wax and leave enough space at the end of the strip for you to have a good hold of it. When ready, remove the wax strip going in the opposite direction of the hair growth making sure to stay as close to the skin (parallel) and as fast as you can. The faster and closer you stay to the skin, the less pain this will cause. If you remove the wax strip slowly and pull the skin upwards, it will hurt your client and probably bruise their skin. Apply a firm pressure after you have removed the wax strip. This will relieve some of the initial pain. Keep waxing your client until all of the hair is gone.

To remove any excess wax that may have been left behind, use an oil (like grapeseed, or a body oil) until there is no stickiness left. You can apply an aloe vera gel to soothe your client’s skin or lotion up with a hemp seed lotion (or your choice). For extra care, apply an ingrown hair/razor bumps specialty formula lotion (like a PBH)…

Hope you enjoyed the short video…  stay tuned for more!

Go-carting!

Categories: entertainment, sports & recreation, vancouverTags: , , , , , Author: mika

We went go-carting at TBC in Richmond over the weekend for my bf’s birthday and it was so much fun! We had a total of 14 people with us and it cost us $40 each for 30 minutes of driving. It wreaks of strong gasoline fumes inside the track, and all you can hear is the sound of burning rubber. Although none of the others could hear me, I was yelling out at people passing me, laughing hysterically, and kept checking my shoulder to see who was around… Almost every corner I took I made sure I whipped my ass end out but apparently you just lose all of your speed. So in the end, of course I was 12th place out of 14. I’m sure I had much more fun though!

This was after the opening ceremonies for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics at Robson Square. Robson Street is my favorite street for shops and restaurants and people to see… and being there to see the street show was so exciting!! The fire was so hot and the music went with the fireworks and the zip liners were zipping over the crowd… So much fun happening in Vancouver right now, the celebrations keep going and I live just a block away!
