Mika Does Makeup Brush

Just recently I got my first makeup brush labeled with the MikaDoesMakeup.com brand on it. I chose this brush because its double ended and both of the ends are very useful. I always use the flat angle brush side for eyeliner and my brows, and the other side is the eyeshadow brush which is also a must!

The quality of this brush is equivalent to any of the big brands out there with large price tags although mine is a fraction of the cost. At only $15 per brush, this unique makeup brush is a steal!

The meaning of Remembrance Day

Categories: general, news, vancouverTags: , , , , , , , , , Author: mika

Remembrance day is a Canadian Holiday which honours the sacrifices of people in all armed wars/conflicts (particularly WWI, WWII and the Korean Conflict.) This day marks the anniversary of the official end of the World War I hostilities on November 11, 1918 and each year the holiday falls on November 11th. At 11 am on this day we should stop whatever it is we are doing to sit in silence for 2 minutes to remember those who have died.

You can participate by donating money for the Poppy Pin and wear them on your shirt or jacket for the weeks before Remembrance day. These artificial poppies are sold at any grocery store and represent the blood red poppies that grew in Flanders Fields where many Canadian Soldiers had died.

Give Credit to Where Credit is Due… Beauty/Photography Industry Etiquette…

Categories: entertainment, friends & family, general, health & beauty, model, news, vancouver, vancouver mobile makeup artistAuthor: mika

Give Credit to Where Credit is Due!!

This phrase hit me when I was talking to Shelly of Shady Minx about how many people help eachother out in the Beauty/Photography Industry and are not credited for putting their time in to create certain pictures or looks. Photographers who put their logo on their work (pictures) put it there for a reason… To recieve credit for taking the picture… Also, the Model’s names would be somewhere underneath the picture as well as the Makeup Artist’s name, and the Stylist’s name… Everyone who helped create the shot should have their names or website links somewhere visible for the viewer to see. So many times we see a beautiful professional photo, obviously taken by a professional photographer, along with some help from the Stylist and Makeup Artist, and there are no names visible on who helped out with capturing the picture.

So hopefully everyone can learn from this and start crediting the Industry crew involved in the photoshoot, advertisement, film, or whatever it is that you have collaborated on.

It’s THAT Simple!!!  Here is an example for those who don’t get it:
