Green Nature Angel Makeup Look

Local Port Moody hair stylist, Shawna Russel from Lox Hair Studio came to me with a great idea. She wanted to enter a local hair competition and asked me to do the makeup for it. I gladly said YES! We added model Pam Starcevich to the picture and got amazing results.

In the end we didn’t win the comp, but we DID create a beautiful Nature inspired masterpiece! Our product was a total winner in our eyes. (For the winners, go to – www.salon52.ca)

Here is a short snippet from my shout out on The Beat 94.5 FM.

I recently did Nira Arora’s makeup for her own upcoming website (and her couple’s photoshoot) with photographer Dawn Stenzel. Nira is so sweet and has the most amazing eyes. I also did some “man makeup” on her hubby Garry which was super fast but super fun since he is so hilarious!

So I got this short clip from her shout outs on the popular Vancouver radio station, The Beat 95.4 FM.

What a catchy tune!!

Nira Arora Makeup for headshots with Dawn Stenzel

I had the pleasure of doing radio host Nira Arora’s makeup from the Beat 94.5 fm yesterday. Nira came to me with a clean and moisturized face which made my job easy because her skin was so smooth and soft. She also has beautifully long eyelashes!  I started Nira’s face off with a primer and tinted moisurizer to even out her skintone. I mixed up some concealer for under her eyes and around her nose and powdered over her t-zone so she doesn’t get shiny in her headshots. I then applied a pretty blush to the apples of her cheeks and highlighted on the high points and her nose. Since the makeup in her last headshots were a little more subtle, I used dark eyeshadow colours for a more intense and dramatic smokey eye look. I decided to apply long cluster false eyelashes to make her eyelashes look even more full, then adding a mascara on both top and bottom lashes to blend them together.I applied a nude lipliner and lipstick then finished off her lips with a pink gloss to give them some dimension.

I straightened her hair a bit on top to smooth it out before she left for her photoshoot.

Hilight Photography – “Spread the Love”

This “Love” photoshoot was taken by Peyman from Hilight photography in historic Gastown, Vancouver. He is a phenomenal photographer, as you can see from these photos!! He had no problem capturing the natural attraction between us in the string of beautiful photos. Jay and I just acted natural and strolled through Gastown lovingly hand in hand, staring into each others eyes  in the coffee shop or cuddling up on the steps… Peyman didn’t miss a shot!

Summer beach hair with a 3 prong

If you have a 3 prong, you can create these summer beach waves no problem. It only takes a half hour or less, especially since I didn’t hold the 3 prong too long on my hair… I didn’t want a “deep crimped” look.  I got my Hot Tools ceramic 3 prong from a beauty supply store in Vancouver for $40.
