This is a short but sweet review from Erin Ireland (itstodie4.com) after she had a manicure at THE STUDIO by MikaDoesMakeup on 1054 Hornby Street!

“Mika’s new Hornby Street studio is absolutely adorable and incredibly comfortable. The pedicure chairs are huge and luxurious which adds to the stress-relieving experience. Yana performed my manicure, which is flawless. She is skilled and has obviously had a lot of experience. She was also very helpful in helping me select the right colors to achieve the look I was going for. I’m rough on my hands (lots of baking and washing dishes) but five days later, the polish job is still perfectly intact. Not only did Yana give me a great service, she helped me with my Italian during the process! She is Russian but lived in Italy for seven years – thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her, although didn’t feel forced to. She is extremely laid-back but focused. Thank you so much Mika and Yana – I will see you again very soon.”

Green Nature Angel Makeup Look

Local Port Moody hair stylist, Shawna Russel from Lox Hair Studio came to me with a great idea. She wanted to enter a local hair competition and asked me to do the makeup for it. I gladly said YES! We added model Pam Starcevich to the picture and got amazing results.

In the end we didn’t win the comp, but we DID create a beautiful Nature inspired masterpiece! Our product was a total winner in our eyes. (For the winners, go to – www.salon52.ca)

I recently did Nira Arora’s makeup for her own upcoming website (and her couple’s photoshoot) with photographer Dawn Stenzel. Nira is so sweet and has the most amazing eyes. I also did some “man makeup” on her hubby Garry which was super fast but super fun since he is so hilarious!

So I got this short clip from her shout outs on the popular Vancouver radio station, The Beat 95.4 FM.

Bachelorette Party Makeup with photographer Karolina Turek

Just finished up doing makeup (with 3 other makeup artists) for a bachelorette party of 10 ladies, with photographer Karolina Turek capturing the sexy shots in her Vancouver loft studio. It was so much fun with the girls suiting up in their hot lingerie with their sexy hair & makeup while drinking champagne and wine to loosen up. Each of the girls got to shoot solo with Karolina, and then at the end got a fun group shot together. All the ladies looked fabulous and felt gorgeous while shooting and couldn’t have been any more comfortable!
